PA WORKER'S COMPENSATION ADVISORY COUNCIL HEARINGS Expressed opinion by Michael A. Kerstetter, PFIW Dauphin County The Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council will be holding another hearing in Scranton. The purpose of the WCAC hearings is to gather information from injured workers to find out what problems they experienced or are experiencing when they used workers’ compensation. Injured workers went to the Advisory Council and asked them to hold the hearings because they were not being given due process while using workers’ compensation to recover from a worker related injury. Every injured worker that knows of, or has experienced a civil rights abuse, fraud, or any other type of abuse or unethical practice should try to attend the hearings to testify and document the problems. This is the time for injured workers to step up to the plate and hit a home run to receive the no fault workers’ compensation that was promised for giving up the right to sue an employer. Someone is finally willing to listen and injured workers can take advantage of the opportunity to speak up. Other hearings will be held throughout the Commonwealth. When the date and location of the hearings becomes available it will be announced. If you are unable to get out to the hearings due to your disability, you may submit a written statement to the PFIW Dauphin County Chapter and it will be submitted to the PA WCAC. Date: June 26, 2003 Time: 10:00 AM Location: Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, 700 Lackawanna Avenue, Scranton, PA 18503 For more information contact: Pennsylvania Federation of Injured Workers Dauphin County Chapter Michael A.
